Help -- choosing a beach for honeymoon: Seychelles, Mauritius, Mozambique

Hi all -- we're still having trouble deciding where to go after our safari in South Africa in the last week of June. My fiancee had originally had her heart set on going to the Four Seasons in the Seychelles, but a combination of price (ouch) and somewhat difficult flight schedules has us reconsidering. Some friends have recommended Mozambique -- perhaps Indigo Bay, Azura (if we can afford it) or Benguerra Lodge. And others have suggested the Four Seasons in Mauritius, which seems to be a bit cheaper that time of year.
We'd love to snorkel and possibly do a few other activities, but we mostly just want a beautiful beach to relax on. Sounds like Mauritius might be a bit cool that time of year. On the other hand, I gather that the two FS are more luxurious than the Mozambique lodges. We might be willing to deal with the hassle and cost of going to the Seychelles if it's as amazing as everyone says. Any thoughts or advice is welcome. Thanks Fodorites!

Seychelles is better, but if price is an issue for you, Mauritius is great too. Also, there are tons of cheaper yet great hotels if you don't want to go in the big and expensive establishments.

Have you considered the South Africa coast? Thonga and Rocktail might be just just what you are looking for.

I was concerned that the SA coast might be a bit chilly in the last week of June/first week of July. Is that wrong?

Check out VAMIZI and RANI resorts.

Agree - June/July is Winter and might be too chilly for rellay enjoying the beach in SA.

Happy planning!

I forgot I'm the only person on Earth who loves the beach in fall/ winter more than summer. S Africa beaches will be a bit cold for normal people. I thought you could save the extra travel money and time.

Did you see pixelpower's latest post? Sounds heavenly - and easy transfer from the Kruger area. Don't know if it's far enough north to get you warmer weather, though.

In all honestly I prefer Mauritius over Seychelles as Mauritius offers loads of golfing resorts, great water sports and it is paradise on earth. If price is somthing you are worried about try shopping around for package deals as they are usually cheaper then organising it yourself, try companies such as Airworld Tours, mauritius Holiday Direct, Virgin Holidays, Kuoni and Thomas Cook. All the best for your honey moon.
