Can anyone recommend a good guide for Petra who you had when you were there?
I heard from a rep from the Jordan tourist board that the guides you pick up on site aren't as good as those who work for private tour companies.
Opinions?

Are you sure you need a guide? I enjoyed Petra much more on my own. Just buy a good guidebook - Rough Guide or Lonely Planet.
