Just wondering several things as we prepare for our trip to Ghana in March:
1) Is the milk safe to drink in restaurants and what you purchase in the store? I imagine it's not pasturized? Anything in particular (food/drink/water wise) that we must stay away from?
2) What would be good things to bring for the locals? I've come across some very reasonably priced reading glasses in varying strengths - would they have use for that there? Perhaps there would be a Dr I could leave them with? Unique, useful ideas most appreciated.
3) Will all the hotels/guest houses etc we stay in provide mosquito netting? Do you ever bring your own?
4) Tell me what items you take with you when specifically going to Ghana that you may not need elsewhere.
5) Do you ever use the ATM machines? Do you ever use your credit card and if so where? Do you travel with travellers cheques and how hard is it to get them cashed?
Thanks so much!
