Grootberg Lodge & Camp Kipwe in Damaraland, Namibia

Both?

3 nts and 3 nts?
3 and 2?

This would be pre-Etosha.

Looking to maximize chance at desert rhino and ele and other unique desert species/habitat.

Looking to hold down lodging costs.

What do you think?

Hi Lynn
I can not comment on Grootberg but I did stay at Kipwe in May of this year. The camp is stunningly situated and the accommodations are excellent. Had our own guide and tracked eles (3 different groups) but no sign of rhinos.
Cheers
Elaine

Yes Lynn I was pretty pleased with that result.
Only saw black rhino one night at Okaukuejo in Etosha.
Have fun in Namibia. Just wish I was going back next year but it is the Tuli for me in May.
Cheers
Elaine

Hey atravelynn,

I went to Grootberg last year. Did a rhino trekking with them. Quite an experience! See trip report here;

Grootberg Lodge is fantastic. Breathtaking location. Can also vouch for the rhino tracking activity with them. It was a great day!

Thanks for all this info, which will be useful in about 2015.

Annegizer, I see your note. Have not been on forum for a long, long time.
