I am planning a trip to the following countries:- Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
I will need short haul flight between some cities and I have looked at prices online, which are very expensive. For example, a flight from Cairo to Damascus or Amman is approximately $320, the flying time of the flight is a little over an hour each way. I am aware that there isn't much competion on these routes.
I am not sure if I it is better to buy these flights from a travel agency in the Middle East, or if discounted airfares simply do not exist.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Good travel agent, fligths in the Middle East

I don't know what the answer is to the price question, but if you want to try an agency in Cairo that should be responsive, go to http://eptours.com/ or email ept@link.net
Hope it helps.
RJames -
I had the same problem back in 2006 - ended up flying Ethiopian from Cairo to Damascus, but I just checked and EA is no longer flying into Damascus.
Did you try Egypt Air? Just out of curiosity I plugged in random dates for Cairo-Damascus and I was getting prices about $100 less than you for one way.
Also check Royal Jordanian.
Thanks for the feedback.
Casual_Cairo, I will check with prices with eptours.
maxwell and sandi, I checked both Egypt Air and Royal Jordanian, for a return ticket Cairo to Damascus/Amman, and got quotes of $320. I did check one ways too, these cost about $230.
I know sometimes local travel agents have access to fare that international agencts don't. If these flights are not discounted, then it really doesn't matter where I buy the ticket.
