Going to bots on safari - Shopping for video camera that takes stills

Jump to last reply

God, how confusing! Leaving in two weeks for Botswana, and trying to figure out what kind of camera to purchase. Want one that will shoot videos and stills. Someone recommended the Panasonic HDC-TM 700, but I see it's a pain to transfer the video to a DVD to watch on your television afterwards. (Eventually, the footage will have to come off of the camera in order to clear it and make room for new footage and burning seems to me the only option, yet it's not easy with this -and maybe all HD cameras?)
So, does anyone know of a camera that takes high quality stills and quite good video?
