Fz30

Hi,
I can't seem to find a generic battery replacement for my Fz30 due to the newness of the camera. The pans. is 70. USD. and I'd like 2.

Some co. say that you can use the Fz20 battery but I was told by Phil and others whom I trust that the batteries are not interchangable.
I need CGRS006A.
All help is appreciated;
Sherry

Hi Sherry,

Here's a generic battery for the FZ30. It's $9.99 plus s&h. I haven't dealt with this seller, but he/she has a very good feedback rating on eBay with over 6,000 positive reviews from buyers.

http://cgi.ebay.com/CGA-S006-BATTERY...QQcmdZViewItem

Good luck!

Jack

Thanks Jack, appreciate your help.

The battery that I need however, is CGR rather than CGA. Too bad - can't beat 9.99.

Panasonic seems to want us buying more stuff with each model upgrade.

Hello,

Another good source for generic batteries is Adorama Camera's battery central, though I'm not sure they can beat $9.99. Take a look on www.adorama.com

Cheers,
Julian

Thanks for your replys and good info. I am wondering though if anyone had experience with either of the above mentioned co. or another - specifically for use of a reliable generic battery with the fz30.

All info. that I've seen states that this camera is pretty finicky about batteries and that the battery is not interchangable with any other model - nice touch from Panasonic.

I'm sorry to be a nudge about this but....
You out there Cyn?
Much appreciative;
Sherry

Hi Sherry:
Sorry - I wasn't ignoring - just didn't think I would be much help. I just got another battery from Buydig.com, their sku#= SAKBP006CL for $39.00. I'm actually bring 2 spare batteries on the advice of Dennis. This is what he wrote, and it made sense to me, hence the third battery:

cyn-I'd recommend taking 3 batteries, you'll be taking lots of photos and don't want to run out of battery power. two to take with you on the drives and one always in the charger, changing it after each return to camp
Dennis

How many days for you Sherry? I'm down to 26.

Cyn

Hi Sherry-
One other thing - if you decide to get a battery at buydig.com, if you enter REPEAT CUSTOMER in the "how you heard about us" question, they say they will ship the order for free.
