Can someone please tell me the approximate cost of a one way flight from Nairobi to Zanzibar? I've looked on the precision air site and it doesn't seem to tell you price. Kenyan Air I know is $280 to Dar, but don't see anything on Zanzibar.

Any help appreciated.

I just priced NBO-ZNZ on www.kenya-airways.com and it came to $260.49 one way.

One more question (for anyone)... we are thinking of going to Zanzibar (after a Kenyan safari) - is there anywhere closer that makes more sense? It seems like the beach towns in Kenya don't have as much to do but this may just be our perception. I realize going to Z means getting another visa etc. . .

I've heard Lamu being described as Zanzibar 20-30 years ago but have never been there personally.

I don't know if it's physically that much closer to Nairobi though. It's on the northern coast, close to the border with Somalia. Roundtrip airfare from Nairobi runs around $300.
