Trip Report Fantastic 5 day tour - Agadir to Merzouga

Jump to last reply

We started our 5 day tour from Agadir to the Erg Chebbi Dunes near Merzouga seeing many wonderful places along the way, such as Sidi Ifni where we walked along the beach to a wonderful arched rock formation which meets the sea. We drove deep into the mountain at Tata with its wonderful scenery and little Berber villages, where Hassans expert driving was put to the test along the narrow rocky track. Thanks Hassan for getting us out alive!!! :-)

Also we went to see the spectacular painted rocks at Tafraoute, where a Belgium artist had painted the huge rocks blue and pink which seemed a bit odd in such a beautiful landscape, but certainly a site worth seeing.

The night we stayed in Tafraoute we stayed in a lovely apartment where Hassan and Lassan taught us how to make a traditional Tagine made with goat meat…. it was delicious and helping the guys make it was fun too!

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our 5 day tour from the accommodation, food including a perfect picnic under a shady tree and one of the days, excellent sites and scenery, wonderful sunsets both at the beach and in the desert, good laughter and music during the long drives (Hassan, I hope you are still listening to Bruno Mars :-) ) and above all a wonderful guide we would highly recommend. Thanks again, we only wish we could have stayed longer.
