Electical Adapters - Botswana / Zim

Does anyone recall what type of electical plugs are in the Wilderness Safari Botswana camps? The large round 2 post, small round 2 post, or 3 large flat posts?
We are going to Duma Tau, Savute, Vumbura, Chitabe. Also staying in Zim.
Thanks

I don't recall which we used, but I hope you're not asking this to run a hairblower - the power at these places isn't strong enough to support such appliances.

However, one can recharge batteries or video cameras, but not for appliances.

I too am interested in the answer to this question - we will have batteries that need to be charged and I want to make sure I take the correct ones with me.

JackieSun - Email the tour operator, tell them what you want to know and why - they should have the correct current information. But the plugs are so small, I always take all of mine - they don't weigh but a few ounces.

Try this website. It has lots of info as well as pics of what adapters/plugs you should need in any country for recharging batteries etc. including all countries in Africa

www.walkabouttravelgear.com

Hope it helps!

eenusa - you will need a transformer as well as the adapters. The transformer steps down the current from 220 to 110. If you just take an adapter, you can short out your appliances.

Just a bit more info - I just checked and our battery chargers all show the input at 100-240V / 50/60Hz. If I am reading the info on the Magellan website re: electrical outlets/adapters accurately, then I would not need a transformer. Is this correct?

JackieSun - by the way, we're also staying at Duma Tau, as well as Chitabe Trails and Xigera. Our tour operator has suggested we take H, C, and D adapters to cover the countries we will be in (S/Africa, Botswana, Zambia). This doesn't quite jive with the website that was referenced above, but seems to do so with Magellan's website.

We had to buy a big 3-round prong SA adapter in Capetown into which we could plug our smaller European 3 prong adapter which our re-charger could then be plugged into. Some of the places we stayed around Capetown had adapters you could use with standard european adapters.

We needed 2 different adapters in Botswana. We needed the large flat 3 prong adapter (like in the UK) (-_-)
and the large two round prong (..)
