Eilat - Petra and the Dead Sea

Jump to last reply

We will be visiting Eilat this August. We have planned to cross into Jordan to visit Petra. After two nights in Petra we were going to head back to Eilat, rent a car then drive to the Dead Sea.
Is there a good option for doing this from the Jordan side? We are a family of six and so would need a big car.
It seems that leaving Petra and heading directly to the Dead Sea without going back to Eilat for a car rental would be a good idea but I don't know how we'd manage transportation and border crossing. Where would we cross back over to Israel near the Dead Sea. I haven't looked into this new idea at all so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
