Egypt - Tour Company

Does anyone know anything about the tour company Minamar Hotels and Travel? So far they are coming in way under Memphis (about $1000 per person and we are a party of four). I have read in this forum about reputation and know that I want to go with a reputable company! Thanks for your help!

When are you leaving?
We are a group of 12 who have put together our own itininary beginning Feb 17 - March 4, 2011. Raouf, from Treasure Egypt Tours and Travel has been our go-to person in Egypt.
Some of the highlights of our tour are: 3 nights Cairo, a 4 night/5 day Nile cruise, 1 day Alexandria, 4 nights Sharm El Sheikh (including an excursion to St Catherine's for a sunset hike on Mt Sinai), Petra and 2 nights in Amman. Our price includes most meals, all transfers (airport, buses, donkey's...), domestic flights and tours - with an English speaking Egyptologist. All our hotels and the cruise (non-smoking) are 5 *.
Join us. The more prople in our group, the more reasonable the price!!

Our trip will be in late Dec/early Jan. Unfortunately, we cannot be flexible on the dates. BUT, thank you for the invite!

Still want to know if anyone (casual_egypt, maybe?) knows anything about Minamar. We will be there for 16 days, so $4000 is a BIG deal!

Sorry, don't know a thing about them. Will Google them and see what I can learn.

They are clearly Egyptian, but seems their specialty is desert or oasis safari tours. I see no obvious reason why they would be more expensive, but maybe they are good. Why not ask them for emails to past satisfied customers for references and ask them if they can explain why they are more expensive? Of course they have to have permission from their past customers for this, but if they have been in business for any amount of time and have any satisfied customers, they will have permission.
Look at the English in the response from the "customers", just in case they give you false e-mail addresses to write to. If it's not pretty decent English, I would be suspicious of who wrote it....if you get my drift. Not that they would do that, but there sure are companies around that would. We see it all the time on these boards with fake customers giving reports on how wonderful their company was.

Thanks CC. Actually, Minamar is the one that is less expensive than Memphis. I contacted Lady Egypt too, but have not heard back from them yet with a quote. I will see about the feedback from customers! Thanks again!

Memphis and LE are both well known anyway.

I used Lady Egypt and I do recommend them. They are very good about customizing a tour to suit your needs and budget.
