A quick search came up with a whole bunch of threads where EQT is mentioned.

Hi nancyej

I see you read my trip report using EQT. To answer your question, yes we were very satisfied with them. I feel that they added a lot of value to our trip.

Mohammed, their operations manager, used to work for Abercrombie & Kent and was trained there in delivering a quality service. When we met with him in Cairo (see my trip report photos)he explained that it was their goal to be compared to A&K but without the price.

At a Christmas party on the weekend I met up with a friend who had recently used them and she was telling me that they were most impressed by the quality of the guides they had provided them. Incidently, they were two women travelling by themselves and they felt they got extra good care because of this.

I chose them after contacting several other agencies because they were able to convince me that they were expert at putting together custom itineraries. Most of the other agencies wanted to steer me towards a prepackaged itinerary.

To answer your other question we did not take a Nile cruise so I can't comment on the quality of the boats they use.

I suggest you contact Eileen Lawrenson at EQT. she is very good at providing detailed answers to your questions.

Hi Nancy

Just answered utrechtman with a similar question ....

http://www.fodors.com/community/afri...lity-tours.cfm

TravellerB 12 times already! and the 12th time is in Jan. Wouldn't that be the 13th Time?

I dont doubt you havent heard about Egypt Quality Tours because you are recommending Le Caire Travel in your other postings. Shame that you have been in Egypt 12 times and yet you only just found fodors this month hmmmmm interesting..... lol. Where you from??

Nancy, there are many different travel agents out there. My personal experience is that EQT are excellent, and i second what great8_too has said already above - their service has been superb for us so far, but also there are great reviews for Casual Cairo and were (until recently) great words for Lady Egypt.

We have always been very happy with the service we have had from Egypt Quality Tours but since we found them we havent gone with anyone else (so cant comment on other private tour agents).

Shop around, find the one you like (and the price you can afford) and I am sure you will have a fab time.

We went to Egypt about a year ago, went on Insight "Egyptian Elegance" tour. Not the cheapest, but it was really good. Excellent quality hotels, good tour guide, and loved trip down the Nile (don't use the bathrobes though, they try to make you buy them!). My only complaint would be that I didn't like to trips to the 'merchant' shops, where you were basically stuck until they finished their sales pitch. Also not enough time for the really good bits - Abu simbel, Karnak, Luxor in general. But as tours go, I'd recommend it.
