Egypt and Jordan in 11 nights.....Can it be Done?

We have a window of 11 nights not including the overnight flight over from the US for a possible trip to Egypt and Jordan in February.

Do you think that is enough time to properly visit these countries? Should we just concentrate on just Egypt and hope to get back to visit Jordan one day?

If we can do both it would be great. How would you split the time?

I would appreciate any advice and opinions.

I don't know about Jordan (never been), but I do know that we did a whirlwind trip to Egypt and it was definitely worth it - we had two full days in Cairo (let's say Tuesday and Wednesday). Wednesday night we took the sleeper train to Aswan. Thursday and Thursday night in Aswan. Friday, we took the car caravan to Luxor. Saturday and Sunday in Luxor. You could easily cut a day from our itinerary, since we had some "relaxation" built in, too, the day of arrival in Luxor, when we could have been out sightseeing, and the last day in Luxor, which was a lovely day spent at the pool (the day before was an intense day of sightseeing, which we opted to do in one day so we could have that "day of rest").

I did Egypt/Jordan in about 11 days and it was great. On the chance you are looking for a tour recommendation I used Lady Egypt. They can customize a tour to suit your needs and they have something for every budget. Please don't miss Jordan, it was fabulous.

I second PM's recommendation about Lady Egypt. I haven't yet gone but they were great in planning.
