Dubai question

I know this is a strange question but here goes. We are thinking of stopping in Dubai on our way to India and as my wife is phobic about geckos, lizards, etc. I must ask if this region has them. it is desert I know so its possible I suppose but I sort of doubt it. Has anybody who has been there know if they have theses little terrors there? Thank you. :-)
