Driver Guide in Luxor and Aswan

Can anyone suggest good tour guides (in Luxor and in Aswan) with a car who can take 2 persons to the High Dam, the Granite Quarries and the Temple of Philae in Aswan and West Bank - Valley of Kings and Valley of Queens, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari
and the Collossi of Memnon and Karnak and Luxor Temples in Luxor.

Thanks in advance.

I can only tell about one company I took the Egypt tour in May 2006. It's Egypt Highlights http://www.egypthighlights.com/

I had very pleasant experience dealing with them, everything was always on time. They have the cars and guides in all these places. Since it was the end of the season, I was alone on the tour, so I had the van, driver and guide all for myself.

When in West Bank, I would recommend also to add a visit to the temple of Rameses III - it's close to Colossi of Memnon. http://www.sacred-destinations.com/e...ramses-iii.htm I took it extra and was very pleased with that.

Anatoliancruiser, I don't have an answer for you (in fact I have the same question). How are you getting from Cairo to Aswan? Are you including Abu Simbel in your itinerary? We'd like to find a car/guide for a 4-day tour Abu Simbel-Aswan-Luxor (we would then fly from Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh). I'm hoping you get some great answers!

If you figure out how to get from Luxor to Sharm, let me know as I'd like to do that also!

Debra, that one's easy! We're going to fly from Luxor to Sharm - it's about 100USD.

Dmlove,

We have not decided on going to Abu Simbel yet due to time limitations. We are taking the night train (sleeper) from Cairo to Aswan.

My family and I spent a week in Luxor at the beginning of this month and I can highly recommend our guide who looked after us there.

He is a very knowledgable, helpful person with a great command of English.

His tours were very interesting and covered Luxor (east and west), Dendera, Abydos, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Aswan.

For some of these tours we had early starts to avoid the heat and sometimes to travel in convoy.

We originally read a post somewhere in this forum, in which he was recommended by some members.

His name is Aladdin Elhaggag and his website is www.luxorguidedtours.com

Hope this helps,

cheers,
