My travel agent don´t think I need an GPS, but what do you think??

I always use a GPS back home,and I really like the idea that I have an GPS if we get lost..

it's not that expensive so why don't you just take one?
It doesn't seem to be necessary, but if you feel more confident and happy with it I would just take one along

I personally don't think you NEED a GPS - your destinations are not off the beaten track, and a good map would do, but it would be quite FUN! As you know if you already use one, it can tell you distances and arrival times as well as fuel stations etc., especially if you download Tracks4Africa (must be a Garmin).
Looks like a great trip! Where are you staying in Windhoek? We'll be there in May/June and our usual acco is booked - too many tourists!!

I think we will rent one, even though it is pretty expensive, can´t find the amount but I think it was around 800N$.

But maybe it would be cheaper to download it?

In Windhoek we are staying in Chameleon Guest House, we booked all the accomodation through Chameleon Tours so that is the reason.

You don't need one with that itinerary. Relatively simple and you can get by with a good paper map. Not really an offroad type of itinerary you have.

luangwablondes.... You are right about that it isn´t an offroad itinerary, two reasons for that, 1. I haven´t driven a 4x4 before and the 2. is that i have 2 kids aged 2(almost 3) and 7 years with me.

I am a little baffled about the 3 nites in Maun - Audis Camp. That is unless you have scheduled a few nites in the delta somewhere. Not much to do around Maun, too far from Moremi. And the 5 nites at Chobe Safari Lodge- Kasane, 5 days in Chobe may be alot for you, unless you plan a side trip to Vic Falls.

We do plan a side trip for Vic Falls with when we are at Chobe. And I hope to get into the delta somehow when we are in Maun. I read somewhere that it is possible to do a day (either boat or 4x4) trip into the delta from Maun. Audi Camp run a few tours. But any ideas would be velcome??

You are on the right track. With young kids it does make it tougher. Maybe check out the Maun Educational Park while there. There are several camps that you can do the tours out of. I don't think I would recommend staying at Audis with all the overland trucks, wanna-be pilots campers that have nothing to do except drink, etc. I would suggest you look at places with generally a calmer atmosphere. Maun Rest Camp & Thamalakane River Lodge are a couple that pop into mind.
