Dining during Shauvot

My upcoming trip to Israel co-insides with Shauvot.( as well as Ramadan) I am staying at the Eldan Hotel which is near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City.
My hotel has contacted me to ask if I want to book any meals ( other than breakfast) during this period. It must be pre-booked.
I am wondering whether this service is an opportunity to experience something of the Jewish culture or whether it is just a service of convenience offered by the hotel.
I assume that while Jewish and Muslim restaurants etc may be closed, there will still be other restaurants/shops open.
Any advice from locals or regular visitors to Israel would be appreciated
