What is the best 3 or 4 night dahabiya cruise from aswan to luxor?

I too am looking at booking a dahabiya cruise for our trip. Would anyone recommend a standard cruise over the dahabiya or vice versa? I know cost wise the standard cruises are less expensive, but the appeal of the smaller, more intimate cruise seems enticing! If you do recommend one over the other, does anyone have companies they would recommend?

Thanks!

I did book the rihanna dahabiya for 3 nights. It only has 8 cabins and much more intimate than a big loud cruiseship. I do believe they have a website.

Best regards, Jeff

I have been talking to two dahabiya companies. Nour el Nil and Nile Dahabiya Boats. Nour el Nil sails only from Luxor to Aswan for a 5 night cruise. They guarantee that they don't use tugboats- that may be why they sail only in that direction. The other company admits that they use the tugboats when necessary and in order to better the chances of sailing, cruise from Luxor to Aswan. I know that I would be really disappointed if I booked a Nile cruise on a dahabiya and found a tugboat alongside!

We loved the dahabiya choice....great way to pick up the rhythm and atmosphere of the Nile...not sure how to avoid a tug though unless you have some flexibility on arrival departure..personally it didn't bother us too much....we sailed plenty but they have a pretty long tow rope....we were fine with it. Can't predict the wind always....
