Sallam 'lekum jimhg,
Your three options include 1. taking the train; 2. catching a grand taxi; and 3; booking a private transfer.
1. Trains run hourly between the airport and Casa Port (via Casa Voyageurs, no change required) daily from 5.55am–9.55pm, with a further two services at 11.45pm and 3.55am. The voyage to Casa Port takes around 50minutes and costs 40dh for 2nd class. See the website www.oncf.ma.
2. The official rate – always current and not “out of date” as some taxi drivers try to persuade – for a grand taxi between the airport and the city centre is signposted at the taxi rank just outside the T1 terminal building. At the moment the signposted rate is 250dh for up to six people.
3. Our travelers are currently getting charged 300dh-350dh for a private transfer.
Option 1 is obviously the best value, is usually reliable and is very safe.
Option 2 requires the most fortitude with regards to the sometimes confronting attitude of the drivers.
Option 3 is obviously the most reliable and least hassle.
Happy travels,
Darren Humphrys

Hi again jimhg.
Your Casablanca hotel will usually sort it out for you, which can be advantageous as you would then hope that the driver is aware of the hotel's location...which isn't a given with your run-of-the-mill taxi driver. If your hotel doesn't respond, then our logistics manager Mr. Bouchaib Boudki can assist you...I presume I can't mention any more details, other than to recommend you email me via the website on my Fodor's profile?

jimhg,
I am currently planning a trip to Morocco. While I am a seasoned Fodorite who has gotten excellent advice on the Europe and American forums, the Morocco forum is full of poor advice from people who want to make some business. DarrenHumphrys wrote:

On the airport's website I read:
"Taxis are located at level 0 of the arrivals area. The base rate for a journey to Casablanca is 200 MAD or about 20 USD."

Can't it be that this Darren gives wrong information in order to make you book his service and get some money from your?

Good day traveller1959,
Well done on choosing Morocco for your next adventure, and I do hope that our fellow Fodorites can assist you with any questions or thoughts you may have.
You make a very valid point about my mentioning our website to jimhg, in that this isn't in the spirit of a traveler's forum. I myself have previously lambasted someone who was trying to 'assist' a forum poster by directing them to a particular website or email. I'm not sure why I mentioned our business to jimh, actually. I perhaps just wanted to really help him out, but I agree that it looks like blatant selling. Please consider myself re-aligned to the non-self promotional spirit of the Fodor's forum.
As far as my suggestions and information are concerned...I'm often guiding around the country in addition to updating guide book information, and thus avail my (up-to-date and current) knowledge to my fellow Fodor's travelers. The information on the airport's website is out-of-date; my information is current.
Your fellow traveler,
Darren Humphrys
