After you've done your price comparisons, etc. I would also check with the rental company you are interested in using. They have lots of information on what is out there - and also will be able to tell you if they accept certain card provided insurance.

Assuming you are asking about U.S based credit cards, I have heard from my bank & others that many but not all World Mastercards will work. I know that some European cards work too.But as others note,if you decline one insurance (CDW/LDW) you still must pay the other insurance that the car rental companies require. Basically you are talking about paying "only" about $9 per day instead of $15.
about asking the rental car companies--good luck. I have done this several times and not one would say anything other than "ask your card company" --they do not want to gete involved and leave it up to you to figure out what your coverage is or isn't

When I went to rent a car at Eldan in Jlem, I was sure my World Mastercard would work in covering the additional insurance. However, the card was declined because they wanted to withhold $5000, and I had not cleared this with Mastercard previously.
At that point we were so exhausted waiting, and had to get moving. I did not try to call Mastercard, and wound up paying for the insurance. Fortunately, they accepted my AMEX card which I keep in reserve.
The moral is call your CC company beforehand.

I am planning to have a trip to Israel for my family somewhere between June and July. I would like to get a car rental service that would arrange a tour for us once we arrived. We will be staying there for two weeks. Can anyone give me recommendations or advice?

dwhite you are confusing a variety of different services. There are many companies - both Israeli and international that rent cars in Israel. This works the same as anywhere else in the world. You rent a car, you drive it, you go where you want and tour on your own.
There are companies through which you can reserve a car and driver. You will be picked up and driven wherever you like - you set the route and the driver drives, and only drives.
If you want a guided tour you need to employ the services of a licensed tour guide. There are many web-sites that can help you find a guide and there are many recommendations to be found on line. Some guides also have the requisite chauffer's license and they can drive and guide you. Some guides own a touring vehicle, others can arrange for one for your tour while other guides will arrange for a car and driver for transportation while they guide.
Make sure that whoever you hire to guide is licensed. This way you know that they have taken all the necessary course and you will receive a quality tour. Additionally, if you use someone who is not licensed they can be stopped in mid-tour and you will be stuck.

Check out auto-europe for their rates. Auto europe is a wholesaler and in the past has given us the best price. Given they are a US company, they should helpo with any questions you may have. we have been to Israel 3x and have always used auto europe for car rental. they may be able to assist you with tours also.
