Camping in Pemba

Hello!

A friend and I are planning a week long trip to Pemba during our 6-week visit to Kenya & Tanzania. We have reservations at the Mission dive center in Chake-Chake, but we thought it might be fun and economical to camp for a few of the days while we're in Pemba since we'll have full camping gear with us. Is this crazy? Any suggestions on beaches near or available by transport from Chake-Chake that would be good for camping?

Many thanks!

-Christina & Ken

There is a campsite called Russells at Wimpe Beach, which is the beach to head for. There is regular local transpo between Pembe and Wimbe Beach. When I was there last there were 2 dive centers also at Wimpe.

Robbie, christina_ken is talking about Pemba Island in Tanzania, not about Moz.
