Best 4 or 5 star resort in Sharm?

Best 4 or 5 star resort in Sharm?
Hi. Going to be in Sharm end of July for 3 nights. Looking for the best 4/5 star places (range $100-175 US / night). Interested in beach, watersports (snorkel/dive/maybe jetski if available). Accessible casino might also be a plus.

I've looked on the web-- found a deal at the 5* Conrad hotel for $100 /night, the Ritz looks to be about $160 / night, and a travel agent is offering us Movenpick Golf Resort at a reasonable rate also. Any thoughts on these places? The Golf resort doesn't look like its on Naama Bay & doesn't have casino, but I've read good reviews on it.

I haven't been to any of those but I would go for the Mövenpick without hesitation. We've been at the Mövenpick in El Gouna and were very satisfied. Mövenpick is a Swiss chain, known for its good quality. (Side note: Pres. Mubarak has his private suite in this hotel).
You can book online for as low as 98$ for a standard room (112$ superior, 126$ deluxe)!

NOTE: The Mövenpick Golf is NOT at the beach. Their other hotel (Mövenpick Resort & Casino) is at the beach, although their cheapest rooms are across the (busy) street. Both are rather large properties.

Keep in mind that very few hotels in Sharm have a good beach because the reef is right at the shoreline. I have heard that the Sheraton has a pretty good beach, but I haven't been there.
I have friends who recently stayed at the Conrad and really liked it. I also have friends who go nowhere except the Four Seasons.
We have stayed at the Hyatt and the Movenpick Golf. Both had limited beaches, but had diving centers right on-site. The Hyatt had a small beach area. Both hotels have the floating piers. Both are close to the airport, but are 10-15 minutes from the downtown Na'ama Bay/boardwalk area. I think most hotels have shuttle buses to Na'ama Bay. You could get a cab to the casinos.
Between the two, we prefer the Movenpick - althought the Thai restaurant in the Hyatt is wonderful! At the Movenpick, try to get a room on the inside circle, facing the pool.

We've confirmed a room at the Movenpick Golf. Our trip will be:
Cairo Movenpick x 2d
Luxor Le Meridien x 2d
Sharm Movenpick Golf x 3d
Cairo Helnan x 1d
Then fly away!
We're pushing it, but we'll squeeze in Abu Simbel too-- I really want to see it.

Let us know how the hotels were. I was just at the Sheraton, and the beach was nice, although I don't remember how many watersports were located right there. They certainly could arrange for an operator, and you must go snorkelling on the reef. How are you arriving there?

We will be flying into Cairo, then flying to Abu Simbel, flying to Luxor, then flying to Sharm, then Flying back to Cairo.
A lot of travelling, I know-- but our tour operator was able to give us a good deal. --$840 per person for all flights (not including flight to/from Cairo-- we already had that), all hotels including breakfast, and tours of all the sites, and a sunset felucca ride!
They are air-link travel in Egypt. I hope for no snags or surprises once we get there! If we have problems I'll write about it.
