"bathrooms stops" in Petra???

I was just looking at Liz S's blog of Jordan (which is amazing by the way) and wondered about Petra and the bathroom situation?????

This dam "pea bladder" of mine makes me nervous when having to be "out and about" in a different environment.

There was another enquiry on this same topic awhile ago, here is the link:

I'd just advise going somewhere after getting off your bus, and there are toilets down at the bottom which I remember didn't impress me very much. But in a pinch, they were ok. Just read the posts and be brave!

That enquiry was by the same poster. I don't think the situation has changed.

That was me asking about Jordan in general... now I want to know about Petra specifically.

Are you asking if there are toilets in Petra? Yes, I saw several. I am also a pea bladder so I would have noticed if there were insufficient toilet facilities.

Unfortunately some of the caves had also been used as toilets so do watch your step.

There were porta-potty like things near the Treasury, not really my idea of nice, but if you needit well...

I don't remember anywhere on the hour or so walk in...go before you head to the Treasury and then hope for the best!

I thought there was one at the restaurant but now I'm not sure.

I remember seeing the outhouse type building just as we were coming toward the Treasury, then another much larger facility just past that.

Yes, there's a restroom at the restaurant, which is after The Treasury at the end of the Colonnaded Street.

The sun beats so much that I never had to use it despite drinking lots of bottled water, which I had in my backpack.

Miss Green,

I have just visited Petra and want to reassure you that there are WC's everywhere in the Petra site. So no worries
