Back from Kenya & Zanzibar
We're back from 3.5 weeks in Africa - Safari, climbing mount Kenya and relaxing at Zanzibar beaches. Was great!

Such a nice variety. All good but I especially liked the running gazelles, sitting giraffe, the couple of gerenuk shots, the side view of the cheetah, the seated Maasai, the pair of secretary birds, and your many scenery shots. Congrats on the serval, one of my all time favorites.

Nanale, thanks for sharing your photos. I loved the plant gathering rainfall, the gerenuk’s belly, the running tommies and of course the serval. The elephant crossing the river doesn’t look well at all. Could she be the one that’s in a documentary (don’t remember which, but it was with Saba Douglas-Hamilton) walking around on three legs? In that case she’s managed to stay alive for years.

Thanks for sharing your marvelous photos.
I particularly loved the one of the single elephant cross the Uaso Nyiro River in Samburu. Her name is Babyl. She is about 15 years old and was born with a dislocated hip. It was thrilling to see that she is still alive and able to get about. She is from the Biblical family grouped named by Iain Douglas-Hamilton and is usually found with them. However, when they leave the reserve after the rains she stays in the reserve as she can't travel as far.
I haven't seen her for a year, and am thrilled that she is still able to get about.
