Ararabesque restaurant in Damascus

Just got back from a great trip to Syria and would be happy to answer questions. I would like to recommend the Arabesque resaurant in Damascus as a WELCOME change of fare from kabobs and chips. It's near the Greek Orthodox church on Madhat Pahsa Souk (there's a sign). Tel: 543 3999 Fax: 3312170. The menu is varied with a French and Moroccan emphasis. Dinner for two with appetizers, main courses, desserts, espresso, and a bottle of excellent Lebanese wine was about $40 US.(expensive for Syria) Cash only, popular with the expatriate crowd, upscale Damasccans, and independent tourists.(too small for a tour group) You need a reservation. It goes without saying that the service and welcome were gracious and genuine.
