April or October for big birthday in Morocco?

Jump to last reply

I am in the very early stages of planning a trip to Morocco. I will be turning 60 in 2014 (what???!!!!) and I'm trying to plan something special. I want to go someplace exotic, and it looks like Morocco fits the bill. I particularly want to do a one-day camel trek into the desert, staying overnight and lying under the stars. Seems like the perfect way to celebrate this milestone.

There's so much confusing information about the weather, but I think I've narrowed down April and October as the most ideal time to go, weather-wise. I don't want to travel when it's hot, but I also don't want to freeze in the desert.. Don't want to get stuck in a sandstorm either. Or be there during the rainy season.

Does anyone with any desert experience have any advice for me?

Thanks,
Laurie
