Trip Report Amazing Safari Trip in Zimbabwe (Matopos-Hwange & Victoria Falls)

Jump to last reply

We had had just finished our 5 day safari tour in Zimbabwe which covered Rhodes Matopos National Park, Hwange & Victoria Falls. We arrived in Bulawayo from Harare with the night train which was a good ride, but very long journey. On our arrival at the Bulawayo train station, we mate a guide who gave us a lift in town where we overnight at Berkley Place near the city hall. It’s a pretty basic hostel with running hot water, turn left from the Max Garage petrol station.
After a long search and comparing tour operators in town, we picked a small tour operator which runs safaris from South Africa but with ground handler in Bulawayo. After discussing all we wanted to do with the guide, we came up with an itinerary which include Matopos, Hwange & Victoria Falls. The next day we were picked from our hostel and started our five day trip. From the start to the end, we enjoyed every moment of our trip and the price was reasonable .Hwange was real nice, we saw lots of animals even before we got into the park. Our guide provided tents, bedding and the cutlery which we found it to be very helpful as we had no sleeping bags. Camping at the main cam was ideal as we saw animals from our camp site grounds. It was so sad to end our trip in Victoria falls when we say bye to our guide Goodluck. We also walked with lions in the Victoria falls & we did the sun set cruise.
For any body who will be looking for an adventurous camping safari in Zimbabwe, we highly recommend Tanzania Rafiki Tours. They were absolutely amazing, punctual and always attentive to our requests.
Thanks !
Anex.
