adapter for Kenya/Tanzania

I noted in another thread that Grounding Adaptor Plug H is the correct one for South Africa. Is is also the one for Kenya/Tanzania? We will be staying mostly in Serena lodges on our trip. Thanks for help.

In Tanzania (an I think in Kenya too) they use UK style three pin plugs. Don't forget they also use 240volts so you will need a transformer if you are travelling from North America.

Most appliances are dual voltage, but if not, be sure whatever you are using is switched to the 220/230/240 mark on the device. The 3-flat triangular plug is most often used, but I've run into a few outlets that accept the 2-round prong European (France, Italy) type plugs... always throw this in with the other.

If for some reason, your devices don't work, inquire for a plug or replacement device at the Reception area. They often have extras for guest's use.

In Kenya, you need the 3 rectangular pin UK type plug. In Tanzania, I've seen both the UK type and 2 round pin continental Europe type plug (more often the former than the latter).

cdnfolks,

I suggest going to Radioshack or Bestbuy or someplace similar and buying a global adapter. It is inexpensive and you can virtually change to the two pin, three pin or whatever your destination calls for by plugging your home adaptor to the device and charging the phone.

I like the idea of the global adaptor.
Fewer gadgets - less weight! Thanks
