50 and chunky and summited Mount Kilimanjaro!

My husband (44) and I (50) just came back from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. I am reasonably fit, but no athlete by any stretch of the imagination. We coordinated our climb with FOCUS IN AFRICA, which is a Tanzanian local company run by Nelson Mbise. They were highly recommended on TripAdvisor and prices were much more reasonable than the western run companies with their fancy brochures and website. We enjoyed a first class trip - ten people with the company accompanied the two of us...and treated us like beautifully and supported us every step of the way. We had Babaluu and Chaz as our guides - they both speak excellent English and Babaluu has climbed the mountain over 450 times! He is unbelievable.

Focus In Africa (FIA) did everything they promised and were super dependable. I highly recommend them for your climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro.

We also used them for a 6 day safari to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara and we had a great time and saw tons of wild animals and stayed in nice lodging.
