2Afrika and Tanzania/Kenya

I welcome hearing from anyone touring with 2Afrika this year and in particular in Tanzania. I understood some changes occured with local tour company and wanted to learn how the quality of service is. Thanks
Dick

Hi Dick

We went in June 2003 and they were using Predators in Tanzania (have they changed?) and a new company, Naked Wilderness Afrika, in Kenya.

Our experience with both companies was extremely good - I know you went with Predators before, and I would say that NWA tried just as hard to make the trip successful (and succeeded) as Predators did. Very similar quality and style of service between the two.

Hope that helps - if you want any more info let me know or e-mail (I can send my address again if you have deleted it).

By the way, I dont know if you caught my post that our Tanzania photos are up on our webpage (no captions yet and we are working on Kenya) - I can return the favour of all the pictures you sent us by directing you to www3.sympatico.ca/thaynes

Nicole, thanks for the response. Yes, I reviewed your great photos and await more.

I think 2Afrika also changed local company for Tanzania safaris and wanted to hear how others fared.

Nice hearing from you.
Dick

We just returned from a 9-day safari to Tanzania with 2Afrika. We had an absolutely wonderful time. They used Predators Safari Club. Everything went just perfect. We had no complaints. Our guide's name was Shaba. He was very knowledgeable, polite and had a good sense of humor. He had a very good eye for seeing the animals. We hadn't booked a private safari, but ended up being just my husband and I so that was a plus also. This was our first time to Africa on safari and we were very pleased with all the accommodations. We booked with 2Afrika because it best met our budget-economy. But I don't know what more a person could ask for on safari. I would definitely recommend 2Afrika and the Predators Safari Club. We just got back on 2/10. If you have more questions, I'd be glad to answer what I can. I read with interest your earlier messages about safari and you helped me in making some of our travel plans. Thanks.

Pooh, thanks for making my day!! Your comments reinforced our decision to travel with 2Afrika again. We are on for a Tanzania/Kenya trip in June, 2004. Based on what other posters said we really wanted to see southern Tanzania but those parks are quite a bit more expensive so we opted for the northern ones and into Kenya. Plus, we can take our daughter again and that makes the trip that much more enjoyable. We certainly would be interested in hearing any high points of your safari and should you opt to post pictures somewhere please do so. I am sure other readers welcome hearing reports from your trips. I know I relived our when I read of others. Thanks
Dick

Dick, I travelled with 2Afrika in Sept. 2003 (see Trip Report - Tanzania and Kenya in this forum) and was very pleased. 2Afrika were using Vintage Africa at that time. My guide, John Serakikia, was great. I saw so many animals in the Serengeti, it was unbelievable.
My only complaint, and it's a minor one, was that the van interior could have been in better shape. (You have the option of request 4WD if you prefer.)
Glad to know you're planning a return trip and look forward to your trip report.

star55, thanks for thoughts. I recall the van (Predators Safari Club) used in our 2002 trip was in fine shape and that I commented to my wife how clean it was each morning when we departed from lodge. Road conditions were such we did not need a 4x4 drive. Will certainly post upon return. Dick
