15 day tour in Morocco - itinerary advices

My husband and I are traveling to Morocco for our honeymoon druing 15 days, we are interetsed in visiting the imperial cities, atlas mountains, north , south and sahara desert.

I did some search and find out that most of the travel agency offer 15 day tours start from Casablanca , but we are still deciding which tour we will choose, so if you can please let me know which one of this 15 day tour are the best .?

1 ) 15 day private tour itinerary by Morocco Excursions Company : http://www.morocco-excursion.com/15-...asablanca.html

2 ) 15 day group tour itinerary by Gate 1 Travel : https://www.discovery-tours.com/smal...6.aspx?SessID=

If you have any advices, or if you aleady visited Morocco during 15, please suggest your advices & your itinerary.

I would prefer the overnight in Essaouira to the day trip to Chefchaouen, and also starting out by sleeping in Rabat. But it may come down to whether you prefer a private or group tour.

My tour was with Intrepid - click on my name for my TR. They don't have the same itinerary now, but this is 15 days:

I did a 15 day tour last Sept with Explore, an English company. I liked the idea of not seeing Casablanca, I flew into Fez and out of Marrakech. Worked fine for me.

My daughter and I just did a week-long trip with Mark Willenbrock ([email protected]). I had also traveled with Mark in 2006. He is extremely knowledgeable, well-connected, and passionate about his adopted country. He will get to know you and your preferences by email exchange, and then tailor a trip that will be perfect for you. Once you get his suggested itinerary, you can make changes if you like -- but I promise that you will be thrilled by the choices he makes for you!

We have just returned from a 12-day-trip to Morocco. We had a rental car and drove by ourselves. No need for an organized tour. Morocco is a civilized country and very easy to travel. Good roads, excellent accomodation, very helpful people, everyone in tourist business speaks English, everything dirt cheap.

These were the highlights of our trip:

Fès - the largest medina in the Arabian world, still very authentic and full of wonders

Meknes - the most authentic Moroccan Old Town, with the best souk and a market square with snake charmers and monkeys that looks like it must have looked in Marrakech 50 years ago before the city was corrupted by mass tourism

Ait Ben Haddou - unbelievably beautiful, with excellent Berber guides

Todra Gorge - very impressive

scenic drives: between Fès and Merzouga, and Merzouga and Quarzazate, and the old caravane trail from Ait Ben Haddou to the High Atlas pass.

traveller1959, did you do the Fez-Merzouga drive in 1 day, or 2? If 2, where did you stop for the night?

Did you just hire a guide that was around at Ait Ben Haddou, or did you have something pre-arranged?

Sorry Elena, I did not intend to highjack your post...
