We are staying 4 nights in Cairo and then boarding a cruiseship. Unfortunately, we will only be docked for 10 hours. We were hoping to see Carthage, but also to have time to explore Tunis a bit.
We (2 couples) always prefer to hire an English Speaking Taxi driver. Will this be possible? My French is laughable and in moments of stress I tend to forget all but the basics.
Thanks for any suggestions.
10 hours in Tunisia! Help me plan.

Our ship stopped in La Goulette for seven hours in September.
Taxis were readily available outside the terminal building and most drivers spoke at least some English.
First we went to the Medina. We did not spend much time there because most of the shops in the souk were closed because it was Sunday, although nearby shopping areas outside the souk were very busy. We then went to Sidi Bou Said and walked around there a little; stopped at but didn't enter the Carthage site; and made our final stop at the U.S. Military Cemetery before returning to the ship. We did not visit the Bardo Museum.
We did all of this in about four hours, so you should have no trouble.
dcdee,
Thanks for the input about Tunis. We will be there on a Wednesday 7:00 - 5:00 which is a long time compared to some of our stops (Malta - 1:30 to 6:00!)
We do want to visit the Bardo Museum. Was it closed on Sunday or hard to get to?
